Lost Time Claims Adjuster

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Lost Time Claims Adjuster who will be responsible for workers’ compensation claims file management, litigation coordination, and providing customer service to our insureds, claimants, and attorneys.

Job Summary

  • Adjust claims according to state specific statutes and regulations
  • Communicate appropriate information to all stakeholders
  • Manage all litigation and settlements on assigned claims
  • Manage customer and agent relationships
  • Manage reporting to all insurance/reinsurance partners
  • Ensure and maintain appropriate licenses or certifications for all states in which claims are being handled.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • North Carolina Adjuster’s License
  • 2+ years experience in claims management
  • Ability to effectively operate a computer with knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analysis of complex issues
  • Ability to manage and operate independently and effectively
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to service for both external and internal customers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive approach
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Solid adjustment and negotiation skill set, coupled with a thorough knowledge of Product Standards and state laws and regulations

Claims Adjuster Trainee

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Claims Adjuster Trainee who will be responsible for learning the essential functions of adjusting workers’ compensation claims and the basic principles of the industry. The Trainee will learn through training sessions as well as handling an entry level claims desk. The Trainee will be responsible for obtaining a North Carolina Adjusters License within 90 days of being hired with the company.

Job Summary

  • Investigate and handle claims utilizing state specific guidelines
  • Document activities and communicate with clients and injured parties
  • Gather multiple pieces of information and subsequently look at the big picture to create and implement a plan of action
  • Handle medical only claims and some minor claims with lost time and/or impairment benefits
  • Maintain file diaries until resolution
  • Conduct reserve analysis
  • Participate in training and mentoring to learn how to adjust claims
  • Recognize and pursue medical recovery and treatment
  • Participate in Claims Roundtables and Claim Reviews
  • Best Practice Compliance

Job Requirements

  • College degree preferred
  • Valid NC Adjuster’s License must be obtained within 90 days of being hired

Systems Application Manager

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Systems Application Manager who will be responsible for handling the information system application activities and overseeing software systems.

Job Summary

  • Evaluate existing procedures to determine software configuration changes
  • Oversee feasibility research, estimate project timeline and scope
  • Ensure project milestones are met and adhere to approved budgets
  • Through testing and validation, ensure applications, reports, and projects meet end user’s expectations and needs
  • Collaborate with internal departments to plan and deliver applications and regular area activity reports
  • Ensure business area requests for application development services are understood, prioritized and addressed
  • Schedule and direct project communications and software oversight committee meetings
  • Manage application support and configuration request
  • Ensure production systems are performing well and operating without defects
  • Act as central point of contact for application software vendor

Skills

  • Familiar with workers compensation insurance industry terms
  • Ability to create business requirements, business processes, and project plan
  • Must possess proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Visio)
  • Familiarity with data interface, data extract and data analysis functionalities
  • Familiarity with MS SQL programming language
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Must be a dynamic and self-starting individual who is able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal guidance and direction
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work to meet deadlines

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 7 years management experience
  • Experience with both custom application software development and packaged software implementations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimal travel - domestic
  • Regular business hours Monday through Friday with minimal afterhours work
