Lost Time Claims Adjuster

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Lost Time Claims Adjuster who will be responsible for workers’ compensation claims file management, litigation coordination, and providing customer service to our insureds, claimants, and attorneys.

Job Summary

  • Adjust claims according to state specific statutes and regulations
  • Communicate appropriate information to all stakeholders
  • Manage all litigation and settlements on assigned claims
  • Manage customer and agent relationships
  • Manage reporting to all insurance/reinsurance partners
  • Ensure and maintain appropriate licenses or certifications for all states in which claims are being handled.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • North Carolina Adjuster’s License
  • 2+ years experience in claims management
  • Ability to effectively operate a computer with knowledge of MS Office applications

Business & Regulatory Analyst

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Business & Regulatory Analyst to assist in the overall management of insurance policy, claims, billing management systems, and reporting regulatory data to state and independent bureaus.

Regulatory reporting includes, but is not limited to:

  • Claims First Report of Injury Reporting (Claim EDI)
  • Workers’ Compensation Policy Reporting (WCPOLS)
  • Workers’ Compensation Statistical Reporting (WCSTAT)
  • Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set Aside Arrangements Reporting (CMS)
  • Miscellaneous state and federal claims reporting

Essential Job Functions

  • Liaison between the various departments and Information Systems by planning, developing and conducting the analysis and testing of system functionality.
  • Assist in resolving system issues, provide end user training and user authentication.
  • Evalute system functionality by performing the configuration in a test environment, as well as end-to-end testing, which could include, but not limited to testing transactions, reviewing reporting and the process to ensure it meets the business needs.
  • Document requirements from manager and end user; identify redundancies or issues and recommend efficiencies or process improvements.
  • Interpret and construct basic test scripts, system and user acceptance testing and requirements documentation.
  • Assist in training or supporting system users and project roll-outs and the day-to-day management of policy, claims and billing management systems.
  • Prepare and audit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory data submissions.
  • Work on special system or regulatory projects as requested.
  • Track, communicate and provide schedules by state, underwriting carrier, or regulatory agencies for reporting.
  • Communicate system issue resolution or status with internal customer.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience supporting business/IT systems, including software implementation, migration, support and testing.
  • Microsoft SQL server Queries
  • PC proficiencies: MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Skype for Business

Client Services Representative

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Client Services Representative to manage accounts receivable and billing responsibilities related to collecting current and past due payments.

Job Summary

  • Post customer payments by recording all checks and online payments received
  • Generate EFT files for bank submittal
  • Monitor unpaid invoices and aged receivables on a daily basis
  • Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from Marketing, Underwriting, and our customers
  • Resolve collections
  • Generate agent commissions on a monthly basis
  • Weekly and monthly customer invoicing
  • Cover the front desk as back-up Receptionist, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with some college preferred
  • 1+ years experience in an office environment
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive approach
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills and basic office machinery

Junior Underwriter

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Junior Underwriter to review applications for workers’ compensation insurance and evaluate risk to determine acceptance of writing policies.

Job Summary

  • Participate in risk selection, pricing, and account management
  • Creatively write profitable business
  • Use multiple tools, including pricing models, for appropriate risk selection/pricing and ability to communicate rationale for underwriting decisions
  • Exhibit a commitment to finding ways to write business without sacrifice of quality
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring sales plans with targeted agencies by demonstrating effective agency management skills
  • Learn from Senior Underwriters within the department
  • Handle renewal accounts on a timely basis, attaining service timeliness standards and achieving planned renewal retention goals
  • Develop excellent working relationships with all business associates leading to a high level of customer satisfaction, including agents and internal and external customers
  • Use relationship abilities to uncover new business opportunities, retain renewal business, and develop long term strategic business relationships
  • Manage book of business through working with agents, Loss Prevention, and Claims to identify opportunities for improvement and follow-through with recommendations and implementation
  • Responsible for growth and profitability of book of business

Job Requirements

  • College degree preferred
