Statutory Reporting Analyst

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Statutory Reporting Analyst who will be responsible for assisting in the monthly preparation of financial statements, premium tax returns, state expansion applications, and various regulatory filings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist in monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements
  • Compile and file regulatory reports with various states
  • Prepare and file UCAA expansion applications
  • Monitor compliance and ERM programs
  • Prepare and file quarterly/annual premium tax filings
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting

Lost Time Claims Adjuster

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Lost Time Claims Adjuster who will be responsible for managing all aspects of a workers’ compensation file. The Lost Time Claims Adjuster will work remote and must be located within one of our growth states, possibly the Midwest or other developing territories, such as Texas, Michigan, or Kentucky.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review, examine, analyze and investigate workers’ compensation claims
  • Adjust claims according to state specific statutes and regulations
  • Communicate with injured workers to educate them on the workers’ compensation process and requirements
  • Establish claim reserves
  • Prepare and issue mandated requirements and documents
  • Coordinate medical treatment for injured workers
  • Identify cases with subrogation potential and pursue reimbursement
  • Act as a liaison between the injured worker, legal counsel, and medical providers
  • Review and interpret medical reports
  • Attend hearings, trials, and claim reviews
  • Process indemnity payments
  • Audit and approve charges related to a workers’ compensation claim file

Business Development Manager

Data Broker

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Data Broker who will be responsible for performing the initial investigation on all soft tissue and lost time claims.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Complete the initial investigation - outlined below, within 48 hours

  • Obtain the POMQ on all soft tissue and lost time claims from any employer who has such program in place. Attach the document, complete custom data fields, and document all red flags based on the POMQ.
  • Obtain and review ISOs, call other carriers for further inquiry, complete custom data fields and document all red flags for all soft tissue and lost time claims.
  • Contact the medical provider for medical records and follow up as needed to gain the notes on all lost time claims. Once received, document using the custom data fields, Physician screens, and iDarts paying attention to current treatment, past treatment mentioned, accident description, medications, and co-morbids.
  • If it is determined by the Data Broker or the Adjuster that a medical canvas needs to be completed, the Data Broker is tasked with completing the appropriate canvas in the geographical area that is most relevant. The Data Broker will be responsible for following up with these results and documenting them appropriately.
  • Request and obtain post-accident drug screens through employers for all lost time claims. If the injured worker was seen at the hospital, work with Nurse Analyst to preserve specimens.
  • Complete background checks and social media search on all lost time and soft tissue claims. Document custom data fields, iDarts, and attach documentation including screenshots to iDarts.
  • Start the Capstone statement.
  • Ensure the tools being used for investigation are the best available and suggest other tools as concerns are identified with the current tools used.
  • Suggest questions for the Recorded Statement based on the information found during the investigation.
  • If initial investigation presents a difficult injured worker, refer to the Quality Control Supervisor for potential upgrade on Medical Only soft tissue claims.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental, company, and team meetings as needed.

Quality Control Supervisor

Excellent opportunity with an agile company located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. We are a growing competitor in the Workers’ Compensation industry and are in search of a Quality Control Supervisor who will be responsible for instructing and supervising a team of Data Brokers and Medical Only Adjusters. The QC Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the overall quality of the data collected, the documentation of the data, and the proper use of the data within the first 90 days of each claim. The QC Supervisor is also responsible for making sure that all Medical Only claims are properly handled and upgraded, if necessary, as quickly as possible. As a departmental leader, the QC Supervisor will develop their team members through regular feedback and coaching. The QC Supervisor will also manage all claims within the first 90 days with the goal of gaining closure of the claims within 90 days in an equitable fashion and to give advice to the claims adjusters on how to move forward to that end.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Medical Only Adjusters and Data Brokers
  • Maintain a diary for all open Lost Time claims less than 91 days old
  • Maintain a diary for all Medical Only claims until closure
  • Audit files for accuracy and completeness of investigative information, Plan of Action using investigative information, and use of investigative information
  • Ensure appropriate reserves based on the full understanding of the character of the employee
  • Suggest further investigation and ways to bring file to closure
  • Work with team members to identify and resolve any performance gaps, personnel issues, or improvement opportunities
  • Hiring and merit reviews subject to Investigative Manager approval
  • Ensure and maintain appropriate licenses or certifications of Medical Only Adjusters for all states in which claims are being handled
  • Identify where the staff may need individual and group training and work with the Claims Process Analyst who will coordinate the training
  • Identify trends of individual Lost Time Adjusters based on the files and keep Claims Manager abreast of this information
