Meet Belinda Roper, Synergy's Nurse Analyst

March 20, 2015

Get to know Belinda Roper as she discusses how her role will benefit injured workers.

What will you be doing in your role at Synergy?
As Nurse Analyst, I will be assessing the needs of injured workers and reviewing treatment plans to ensure appropriate care is being provided.  Our ultimate goal is to recover and return the injured employee to work as soon as medically appropriate with the use of medications, physical therapy, and appropriate referrals to specialty physicians.

How will your background and experience help Policyholders?
With eighteen years of experience in emergency and perioperative care, I have gained a different perspective that is not usually obtained by the average workers' compensation nurse.  When you are dealing with a life altering event, as some cases may be, it is not always what the person is saying that is the issue.  I have learned to listen and pay attention to details that are not readily apparent to help resolve the conflict.

What are you looking forward to in your new role?
The part I most enjoy is putting together pieces of the incident to see the complete picture, with the end goal of obtaining a favorable resolution for all parties involved.  With careful analysis, we make sure the injured employee is provided care in an appropriate setting and efficient manner, while keeping costs to a minimum.
